2024 Gut Microecology Academic Forum Series — Shanghai Successfully Held

On November 8, 2024, the Gut Microecology Academic Forum was successfully held at Shanghai United Family Hospital's Changning campus. The event was organized by the Chinese Non-Government Medical Institutions Association and hosted by its Microecology Branch (in preparation) and Shanghai United Family Hospital.

Attendees included Wang Shan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association; Liu Yingzi, Deputy Medical Director for United Family Healthcare Shanghai; Huang Zhigang, Director of the Gastroenterology Diagnosis and Treatment Center; Zhao Yanjun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Microecology Branch (in preparation); and Professors Zhang Jinping, Ye Min, Ke Xiao, Tan Minghua, and Wang Yiping.

Gut Microecology Academic Session

The forum featured in-depth discussion of the development of the gut microecology industry and the theory, standards, clinical frontiers, recent progress, and case applications of precision microbiota transplantation.

Wang Shan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Non-Government Medical Institutions Association, discussed the industry's development prospects.

Liu Yingzi, Deputy Medical Director for United Family Healthcare Shanghai, delivered opening remarks.

Huang Zhigang introduced the Gastroenterology Diagnosis and Treatment Center.

Zhao Yanjun introduced membership in the Association's Microecological Medicine Branch (in preparation).

Professor Zhang Jinping of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital discussed precision microbiota transplantation for patients with autism.

Professor Ye Min of Nanjing BenQ Medical Center presented clinical research on the efficacy and safety of microbiota transplantation for Parkinson's disease.

Professor Ke Xiao of Fujian Provincial Second People's Hospital presented the Chinese expert consensus on clinical applications of gut microecology for chronic constipation.

Professor Tan Minghua discussed operations at the Microecological Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital.

Professor Wang Yiping of Shanghai Zhuoerhui discussed applications of precision microbiota transplantation in the digestive system.

Conclusion

The forum reflected the public-service mission of the Association's Microecological Medicine Branch and created a constructive platform for experts and scholars. It promoted academic research and collaboration, advanced the principle that prevention is more important than treatment, and supported better health outcomes. Experts interested in microecological medicine are welcome to join the branch as members or committee members.
